What Sam Wrote: “Vitamin D-Licious”

While writing this article, I learned that the whole “getting vitamin D from the sun” bit is, for the vast majority of people in the United States, not possible. No more excuses, sun worshippers! (says the man with the permatan.)

I actually learned quite a bit while researching this article: Why they started adding vitamin D to milk to start with, for example, and while it seems like orange juice has always come with vitamin D added, it’s only been a decade. And the whole mushroom sidebar was pretty cool to discover … but the principle is a little weird, too. It’s like they’re tanning them before picking them!

And, of course, there’s a Sammit moment: I was delighted to see that the phrase “double your Ds” made it all the way to print.
